Tricky Brains (1991)
Directed by: Wong Jing
Tagline: "It's tricky to rock around, to rock around, it's tricky!"
Joon Koo (Stephen Chow) is the Tricky Master hired by people to fool others. He demonstrates his skills on one of his customers using a trick door and a trap toilet, leaving the customer in the middle of a shopping mall with everyone laughing at him. It is then we find out that the real customer was the wife of the one who is on the toilet.
The story then moves to an office where the staff play elaborate tricks on each other all the time. This is where we meet the other main characters in the story who will be involved with Joon Koo later.
It does get a bit less complicated but more silly after this, as we find out that Joon Koo is meant to be fooling a man to keep him away from the boss' daughter and fiancée, but it is too confusing to explain.
For some reason my brain kept wanting to me to sing a Run DMC song (tricky) while I was watching this movie, I have no idea why.
The characters are somewhat hard to follow in this movie as the main focus seems to be on the elaborate tricks. My favourite scene of these is the battle between the tricky masters.
It is harder to explain this movie that I thought it would be. All I can say is that should see this movie if you are a fan of wacky comedies.
